3 Tips for Online Shopping

Everybody loves the convenience (and addictiveness) of Internet shopping. Follow these few simple tips to shop optimally for fit and body type online:
- Read the item description carefully. Take note of the measurements given, if there are any, and the material. If you’re looking, let’s say, for a cute white-and-red summer dress, you may be disappointed if the one that looked so good in the picture turns out to be semi- sheer polyester spandex that deforms over your curves and shows every bump and wrinkle!
- Clothes that are inexpensively made tend to run small. It’s not an across-the-board rule, but you can’t blindly stumble into “size small” if it’s a cheaper make, lest you end up with the dreaded 10-pounds-of- potatoes-in-a -five-pound-sack effect. Better to err on the side of big if you’re going to err at all. For bust, hip and hem adjustments, having a to-die-for dress tailored is inexpensive, and WAY less heartbreaking than leaving it in the closet as a venue for moth frat parties.
- Beware of hidden shipping charges. Like an ass, one time I paid $16.95 to ship a pair of shoes I won on eBay for… a penny.
